STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL YAMI/YMI PAGEANT:


Step 1: Register for the pageant by clicking the link at the top and filling out the online form. You will need to choose a delegate title to be embroidered on your sash.  You can represent a city, county, state, heritage, or country other then the USA.  For example, you can be Little Miss Houston, Junior Miss Louisiana, Pre-Teen Miss Bay Area, Miss Texas, Ms. Ireland, Mrs. Harris County, Classic Ms. Mexico.  Draw on your heritage or where you live.  Your National Wear costume will reflect your title or can reflect a theme from the state or country you live in.  If you are having trouble choosing a title, please email Ms. Sabrina.

Step 2 Pageant cost is $195.  Pay your deposit of $25 to hold your spot ant title, or pay in-full.  Email sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com for Zelle, Paypal or Cashapp info.  Once your are paid in full, your SATIN SASH will be ordered and shipped to you! 


Step 3: Make a reservation at the hotel for Thursday-Sunday, June 20-22. Reservations: 281-712-2363 Need a roommate? Please contact our Director, Ms. Sabrina Cadriel sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com  Some delegates choose a late checkout or to pay for one more night (Sunday night) so they can take their time checking out - or take a nap after crowning :)


Step 4: Get your headshot taken, which is a photo primarily of your face. Can be taken indoors or outside, professionally, or with a cell phone or other camera.  May be edited, but please be sure it is a natural looking photo, not over-edited.  There are many people who edit photos for pageants online for a small fee. Email headshot to sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com


Step 5: The FUN part - plan your outfits!  Don't forget accessories and shoes! Please see the Required and Optional Events page.  


Step 6: Will you be doing any OPTIONALS?  You can choose events individually or save $100 by doing all of them!  If you like being on stage and modeling, these are for YOU!


Step 7: Things you will also need:
- A blue dress and your sash for Friday morning registration.

Jeans and Red Top for rehearsal Saturday. 
- A red cocktail dress. 
- An outfit for an Alice In Wonderland Tea Party - can be an Alice character or tea party dress.
- A book to donate at the tea party.
Good luck gifts for the other contestants in your age division.  You will receive numbers the week of the pageant.  No more than 10 per division. 
- Are you creative?  Enter the Door Decorating Contest!  It's fun to go up and down the halls looking at everyone's doors.  


Step 8: At YAMI/YMI we Aspire to Inspire! Find volunteer work and community involvement in your area for your Application.  You may develop a platform or theme for your work! If you need ideas, please contact Ms. Sabrina.  You will be telling the pageant about your endeavors on the Registration Page and also in the months leading up to the pageant on your official Facebook page (see step 9)


Step 9: Pay the balance for the pageant by May 1st.  


Step 10: Create a Facebook page for your delegate title!  Post photos of yourself in your community.  Can include volunteer work, selfies in your delegate sash at events, etc.  There are EXTRA AWARDS at this pageant!  You could win Social Media Queen, Excellence in Service, Star Representative, Inspiration of the Year, Trail Blazer of the Year!  Ms. Sabrina will be following your page for these awards so send her a link on Facebook!
