STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL YAMI/YMI PAGEANT:
Step 1: Register for the pageant by clicking the button at the top and filling out the online form. You will need to choose a delegate title to be embroidered on your sash. You can represent a city, county, state, or USA country location. For example, you can be Little Miss Houston, Junior Miss Louisiana, Pre-Teen Miss Bay Area, Miss Texas, Miss Oklahoma, Mrs. Harris County, Classic Ms. New York. If you are having trouble choosing a title, please email Ms. Sabrina.
Step 2: Pageant cost is $195 YAMI entry or $395 Package. Alumni is $125. Pay your deposit of $25 to hold your spot and title, or pay in-full. Email sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com for Zelle, Paypal or Cashapp info. Once your are paid in full, your SATIN SASH will be ordered and shipped to you! You may also order a State Crown for $45 to wear while you do appearances or charity work.
Step 3: Make a reservation at the hotel for Thursday-Sunday, June 24-27, 2027. Reservations: 281-712-2363 Need a roommate? Please contact our Director, Ms. Sabrina Cadriel sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com Some delegates choose a late checkout or to pay for one more night (Sunday night) so they can take their time checking out - or take a nap after crowning :)
Step 4: Get your headshot taken, which is a photo primarily of your face. This should be a beautiful photo that highlights your inner and outer beauty. You should be proud and confident of your photo! Can be taken indoors or outside, professionally, or with a cell phone or other camera. May be edited, but please be sure it is a natural looking photo, not over-edited. There are many people who edit photos for pageants online for a small fee. Email headshot by June 1st, 2027 to sabrina@youngamericanmiss.com
Step 5: The FUN part - plan your outfits! Don't forget accessories and shoes! Please see the Required and Optional Events page.
Step 6: Will you be doing any OPTIONALS? You can choose events individually or save $100 by doing all of them! If you like being on stage and modeling, these are for YOU!
Step 7: Things you will also need:
- Thursday Registration: Dress to Impress
- Thursday Rehearsal: Jeans and White Top (no ripped jeans please)
- Saturday: Delegates need a Solid Red Cocktail Dress for Opening Ceremony
- Saturday: Reigning Queens need a Black Cocktail Dress for Opening Ceremony
- Saturday Rehearsal: Jeans and Black Top (no ripped jeans please)
- Saturday Party: White and or silver outfit
- Saturday Party: Reigning Queens
- Saturday Party: A Donation for the CAPS Animal Shelter. Suggestions: Kitty litter, cat toys, dry dog food, dog bed, hard dog chews
- Good luck gifts for the other contestants in your age division. Plan on 15 total per division that will include you, other contestants, and Queens.
- Are you creative? Enter the Door Decorating Contest! It's fun to go up and down the halls looking at everyone's doors.
Step 8: At YAMI/YMI we Aspire to Inspire! Find volunteer work and community involvement in your area for your Application. You may develop a platform or theme for your work! If you need ideas, please contact Ms. Sabrina. You will be telling the pageant about your endeavors on the Registration Page and also in the months leading up to the pageant on your official Facebook page (see step 9) WE HAVE A STATE CROWN that you may order for $45 and wear for events and volunteer work! It is gorgeous! Please contact Ms. Sabrina to order.
Step 9: Pay the balance for the pageant by June 1st or you will NOT be on the roster for the pageant. Payment plans available.
Step 10: Create a Facebook page for your delegate title! Post photos of yourself in your community. Can include volunteer work, selfies in your delegate sash at events, etc. There are EXTRA AWARDS at this pageant! You could win Social Media Queen, Excellence in Service, Star Representative, Inspiration of the Year, Trail Blazer of the Year! Ms. Sabrina will be following your page for these awards so send her a link on Facebook!
